Brand New Year, Same Old Crap. Welcome to 2011!

As Featured On EzineArticles
It’s 2011, holy crap! We’re deep into the 21st Century, and I have to say, the only thing that has changed much from a technological standpoint is how we keep in touch with one another. We still for the most part use gas in cars that drive around on the ground; we still have telephones, fancy though they may be; we still have TV - it’s just bigger, flatter, and has better resolution; and, big and, we are still fucking ironing clothes!?

Seriously, IT’S THE 21ST CENTURY. Why in the hell are we still ironing? For that matter why are we still cooking and washing clothes and dishes? I’ll tell you why: men are in charge. Men make up most of the science and technological community, and - for the most - they don’t play a huge role in raising children or doing housework. Heard of Second Shift? If they did, we would’ve had the Roomba a long freaking time ago, and all clothes would be made of wrinkle-free material that sanitized itself in the sun.

Needless to say, there would also be a male birth control device because who wants to put their future in some skank’s hands who coos “I’m on the pill baby, don’t worry?” So, as we move forward into the only century many of us will ever live in, my hope is that as more women will enter the fields of science and technology and invent more devices that make practical sense in our everyday lives. Sure, the Internet and GPS and cars and crap are cool. But I would have a lot more leisure time if I didn’t have to cook, clean, and iron shit every day. Just a thought.
