One Down, Millions to Go

As Featured On EzineArticles
On Monday, May 2nd, the White House announced the demise of notorious terror mastermind Osama bin Laden and a riot of pro-American fervor swept through the nation with crowds gathering outside of the White House chanting USA, USA, USA! I, for one, was astonished. I NEVER dreamed that we would actually get the guy. After all, it’s been a decade! It truly felt like we were sitting on our thumbs the whole time, then all of a sudden Navy Seals bust into a compound in Pakistan, located above ground at that, and shoot that evil bastard Osama in the eye killing him. Political score card: Obama = 1, Bush & Republicunts = 0. Guess who’s getting reelected? There’s no way he’s not. His approval rating jumped from 30-something percent to 50 percent following the assassination.

Besides, any half-way serious contenders for 2012 on the R-side have bowed out of consideration: Romney, Barbour, can’t think of anyone else. That shows you how sad their field is (or how horrible my memory). Meanwhile, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Donald Trump is out there demanding the President’s long-form birth certificate and is satisfied in his request. While Trump basked in his pyrrhic victory, Obama had the last laugh at the White house Correspondence dinner, where he roasted Trump unmercifully as the latter sat at there in the audience rocking
back and forth in his chair, and I imagine, biting his lip to contain a simmering rage. If you didn’t see our Comic-n-Chief going after the guy you must check it out: Trump Roast

Now that Osama is dead, and Trump has been put in his place, does this signal a new era of cooperation between the Obama White House and the Republicans? Maybe. Dick “Shoot ‘em in the face” Cheney, of all people, has already gone on record as congratulating the President, and so far, I’ve heard nothing derogatory or diminishing from the Right-wing echo-chamber. Hopefully the detente will continue. Let’s just hope that once Obama wins his second term - and I am certain he will - that he doesn’t squander the opportunity to finish the change he promised us.

USA, USA, USA!!!!!!
